Top Projects: D’Amore Interiors

In its May/June issue, Designers Today launched its Top Projects initiative, which recognizes great design from 10 interior designers across the country, including D’Amore Interiors here.

After receiving Best Overall Bathroom and First Place Powder Room awards from the National Kitchen & Bath Association earlier this year, Gina D’Amore Bauerle is also a 2025 Top Project winner for her “Here Kitty Kitty” cocktail lounge.

Bauerle writes that the space was formerly an underused study in her client’s home. When the pandemic changed everyday habits, the homeowner eventually decided that a reno was in the cards.

“They were wanting to create an atmosphere similar to the swanky speakeasy lounges in Europe, but in the comfort of their own home,” stated Bauerle, founder of D’Amore Interiors.

A peacock-inspired color palette defines the new space, along with Bauerle’s thoughtful material selection. A built-in Sub-Zero adds function to the bar space, along with decorative elements including oxidized metal laminate panels. The opposite side of the feature wall houses a tall cabinet that provides storage for glassware, countertop appliances, and barware, and the countertop is a solid Peruvian walnut edge grain. The black concrete bar sink has a decorative brass grate that ties in with faucet, and the backsplash features antique mirror leopard spotted tile and includes floating shelves with built-in LED lighting that illuminates bottles and two 36” tall crystal sconces. A teal fringe chandelier accents a round table and swivel chairs upholstered in a hand died ombre velvet from France.
