Behr Paint Company eschews fan deck-based system in new color system

Behr Paint Company has unveiled its next-generation Color System to help designers streamline the color selection process. It launched at NeoCon this week.

Calling the new system a one-stop color resource for creating color concepts and specifying palettes for commercial and residential projects, Behr moved away from the single chip cases and fan deck-based systems for the Behr Color System, which includes eight compact binders with single 5”x5” color samples organized by color hue. The system is now available to commercial and residential firms for pre-order.

“We’re putting the creative power in the hands of the designer to source and select color options during the specification process in a more simplified way to meet their project needs,” says Erika Woelfel, vice president of color and creative services at Behr Paint Company. “After all, color selection should be a fun part of the design process!”

Additional features of the Behr Color System include:

• Whites, Grays & Neutrals Fan Deck – A collection of whites, grays and neutrals most specified on residential and commercial projects.
• Color Guide – Designed to quickly view colors, the Color Guide coordinates with Color Binders and is organized identically to the leaves of Behr Fan Decks, providing consistency between tools.
• QR Code scanning for two-day guaranteed delivery – Offers QR scanning on chips for a guaranteed two-day delivery, powered by Swatchbox, to make color sample updates and replacements fast and frictionless, it said.
